Amazon’s ‘Harlem’ Adds Recurring Roles for Juani Feliz, Sullivan Jones, Andrea Martin, Robert Ri’chard & Kate Rockwell

Tracey Oliver’s (Girls Trip, Little) upcoming comedy series at Amazon has announced additions to its cast. According to DeadlineHarlem has set recurring roles for Juani Feliz (Blue Bloods, The Purge: Election Year), Sullivan Jones (The Surrogate, Halston), Andrea Martin (Great News, My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Robert Ri’chard (Coach Carter, Empire), and Kate Rockwell, (Mean Girls: The Musical, Almost Family). The series follows four female friends as they live, love, and learn in New York City.

According to Deadline, Harlem stars Meagan Good (Deception, The Intruder) as relationship-guru Camille; Grace Byer (The Gifted, Empire) as trust-fund kid Quinn; Jerrie Johnson (Mother’s Milk, Good Trouble) as an alpha woman, Tye; and, Shoniqua Shandai (Bodied, Miss Arizona) as the carefree singer, Angie. Viewers will meet these new characters through the former three friends, respectively.

Martin and Jones will meet Camille as she works as a professor at Columbia University. According to Deadline, Martin will portray Camille’s mentor, Robin. Jones will play a young activist named Jameson. He and Camille will have an adverse relationship until they are able to see eye-to-eye on certain issues. Rockwell will play Anna, a surprising love interest for the anti-love Tye. Not only will she challenge Tye professionally, but she will match her on a personal level.

Ri’chard will play Shawn, Quinn’s reluctant love interest, according to Deadline. As a male-stripper she met for a one-night stand, he isn’t her ideal mate. Finally, Feliz will play Isabela. A young, aspiring politician in the vein of AOC’s senate trajectory, she becomes a new friend to Quinn.

According to Deadline, Oliver and Amy Poehler (Sisters, Moxie) will executive produce the series through Poehler’s Paper Kite imprint. Additional executive producers include Kim Lessing (Moxie), 3 Arts’ Dave Becky (I Love You Daddy, Rough Night), and Pharrell Williams (The Grinch, Voices of Fire) and Mimi Valdes (Roxanne Roxanne, Hidden Figures) via Williams’ I am Other production company.

Earlier this year Whoopi Goldberg (Corrina Corrina, Whoopi) and Jasmine Guy (Dead Like Me, Harlem Nights) were announced as having recurring roles in the series. Amazon Studios and Universal Television produce in collaboration with Paper Kite.
