Amazon Announces the Addition of Zachary Quinto and Khary Payton to ‘Invincible’ Cast

The upcoming Amazon original series Invincible has announced that actors Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story, Star Trek) and Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) will be joining its voice cast in unspecified roles, according to Screen Rant. The series is an adult animated program and was created by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) for Amazon Studios and is based upon his own comic book series under the same name. Its first season will consist of eight episodes with a run time of sixty minutes. This casting announcement acts as another collaboration between AMC’s hit drama The Walking Dead creator Kirkman with one of the show’s main cast members in Payton.

Invincible is an animated superhero program for the streaming platform. The upcoming series centers on teenager Mark Grayson who is the son of the greatest superhero the galaxy has ever seen in Nolan Grayson, otherwise known as Omni-Man. Mark quickly begins to develop superpowers following his seventeenth birthday as the series will portray how this teenager begins to navigate the world and handle his newfound talents. Mark is voiced by another The Walking Dead star in Steven Yeun (Tuca & Bertie, Burning) and his father Nolan is voiced by J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Brockmire).

Additional cast includes the likes of Mark Hamill (Star Wars, Regular Show), Seth Rogen (This is the End, Superbad), Gillian Jacobs (Love, Community), Jason Mantzoukas (The League), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve, Grey’s Anatomy), Mae Whitman (Booksmart, Lady Bird), and Walton Goggins (Vice Principals, The Hateful Eight), Andrew Rannells (Girls, Black Monday), and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley).

Invincible is set to premiere on Amazon on an unannounced date in 2020. Currently, there is no trailer for the upcoming first season.
