Adam Scott Says That ‘Severance’ Season Three Will Hopefully Not Have The Same Turnaround Time As Prior Seasons

Deadline has reported that Adam Scott (Parks & Rec, Step Brothers) told fans that Severance season three will likely have a shorter wait time between seasons. Scott said the writers behind the mind bending dystopian series are working to get series out “much sooner”. The series had a three year gap between its first two seasons. The third season is currently expect production to start in summer of this year.

On the red carpet at the BAFTA TV awards, Scott said, “We’re always trying to shorten the amount of time between seasons, but it’s more important for it to be great than for it to be fast. We’re definitely planning on getting it out much sooner than the last round, which was three years, which is too long,” via Deadline.

Fans will likely be excited to hear that the creative team is taking the care to make sure the series is up to standards. Severance has enjoyed both critical and commercial success. Although season two did lose out to The Pitt in claiming the most Emmys at the 2025 Ceremony. It still claimed eight awards on the night behind The Pitt’s nine. Hopefully the series will continue to deliver the same quality with a quicker turnaround.

Scott would not comment further on plot details about the upcoming season, not wanting to spoil anything. Much of the allure of the series comes from its mystery. “The only thing about telling more is it would be a bummer,” Scott said via Deadline.

Apple TV already streams the series but they acquired the rights to intellectual property back in February. Apple reportedly paid $70 million to production company fifth season. The series has been Apple’s biggest success becoming both its most watched and most nominated series ever. Although, Ted Lasso season four will likely try to top the series after its season four premiere this summer.
