A24 and UTA Strike Deal; The Indie Studio Set to Produce TV Via Civic Center Media

The reign that independent studio A24 has had over the entertainment industry is far from over. According to Deadline, the majorly successful studio has now struck a deal with UTA to start producing their TV content in collaboration with UTA’s Civic Center Media. A24 will now be behind the production of television programs both scripted and unscripted.

According to Deadline, the CEO of UTA Jeremy Zimmer expressed his excitement with the partnership between the two. He said, “We are excited to partner with A24. Their brand stands for high quality and originality, and we believe that the Civic Center Media collaboration will provide a great experience for writers, actors, directors, and IP holders.”

With the newfound partnership, A24 will have access to resources to further enhance it’s content. Although, they have been quite successful in the TV realm while solo. The studio has pumped out many award-winning series such as the Netflix series Beef which won several Emmy and Golden Globe awards, and the HBO series Euphoria, which became a fast favorite among viewers at home. 

UTA, the new partner, also has quite a few notable series under its belt as well. UTA’s Civer Center Media brought viewers series such as The Terminal List on Prime Video which also starred Chris Pratt (Parks and Rec, Guardians of the Galaxy), award-winning series The Great from Hulu, and AppleTV+’s series The Shrink Next Door.

The two companies will now produce both scripted television series but also begin to create and produce non-scripted series as well as some documentary series. Civic Center Media was also stressed by the UTA as a company that will make sure that the artists and talent from both of the agencies will continue to work with their respective studios, while also sharing the work and talent throughout both companies.
