‘Daily’s Show’ Comedic Writer, Tom Johnson Passes Away at 55

Tom Johnson( The Jeselnik Offensive), who is well known for his comedic writing, has passed away at the age of 55. There has been no further information surrounding the cause of death, besides he was in his Los Angeles home. According to Deadline, Johnson has collaborated with famous comedians such as George Lopez(Blue Beetle), Joan Rivers(Spaceballs), Jon Stewart(Big Daddy), and Martha Stewart(Bad Moms), among others.

He was born in Fairfax on July 16, 1968, and has been part of the original cast of The Daily Show since 1996 with Craig Kilborn (The Expendables) to Jon Stewart. According to Deadline, from 2007 to 2009 Tom Johnson would went on to work as the writer for Fox’s Long run late night show, Talk Show with Spike Feresten, and then would go on to work on other shows, which include The Lopez Show and The Jeselnik Offensive with Anthony Jeselnik.

According to Deadline, Tom Johnson has written over 1,200 episodes, was the author of the New York’s bestseller, America: The Book, and has won two Emmy and Peabody awards for his work. Additionally, he was awarded a Grammy, MTV Movie, the Comedy Central Celebrity Roasts, and numerous other awards.

Overall, Tom Johnson will be remembered by both fans of his credited work and loved ones. His outstanding work is a testament of his passion and dedication through his journey. His passing leaves a void in the world of comedy, but his legacy lives on in the countless sketches, monologues, and segments that bear his witty stamp. The Daily Show is able to stream On Demand and on multiple streaming services, such as Hulu and Paramount+, and currently on it’s 28th season.

Tom Johnson is survived by his Wife, Rozie Bacchi, sisters Pamela Dawn Foels and Cindy Johnson Doerr, brothers-in-law, nieces and their spouses, great nieces, and cats.
