Discovery Communications is developing a scripted series mob origin story from Goodfellas’ writer Nicholas Pileggi and producer Irwin Winkler.

According to Vulture, the series will be called The Five Families and will trace the founding of the Gambino, Genovese, Lucchese, Bonanno, and Colombo Mafia families. The series will air on a channel by Discovery Communications, which includes Animal Planet, Military Channel, TLC, Discovery Channel, and more. It is still unknown which channel will host the series.
