‘You’ Season 4: The Stalker Turns Into The Stalked

Netflix has released the official trailer for the first part of the fourth season of You. The first part of season four of You will make its debut to Netflix on February 9, 2023. The second part of the fourth season premieres a month later on March 9, 2023.

“After his previous life went up in flames, Joe Goldberg, played by Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl, Easy A), has fled to Europe to escape his ‘messy’ past, adopt a new identity, and, of course, to pursue true love,” states the storyline for the fourth season provided by Netflix via TV Line. “But Joe soon finds himself in the strange new role of reluctant detective as he discovers he may not be the only killer in London. Now, his future depends on identifying and stopping whoever’s targeting his new friend group of uber-wealthy socialites.”

“We’re floored by the love that fans worldwide have shown our twisted little love story — thank you! You inspire us to go deeper, and also crazier every season,” showrunner Sera Gamble (Supernatural, The Magicians) says to Tudum. “As you know, each season explores a new city and a new ‘you.’ Season 4, set in London, drops Joe into a very different type of thriller: a whodunit murder mystery.”

In the fourth season, Joe finds that he is not the only wolf hiding out in the sheep pen–the stalker has a stalker. This season Joe will talk to a predator instead of his intended prey in his usual creepy voice-over narration, which changes Joe’s analytical angle on things, according to ComicBook.

The fourth season of You also stars Charlotte Ritchie (Repeat, Call the Midwife), Dario Coates (Squadron 42, Cyberpunk 2077), Stephen Hagan (A Royal Christmas, Lucky Man), Ozioma Whenu (The Virtual Llama, The Witcher: Blood Origin), Eve Austin (Fearless, Print), Tilly Keeper (Marooned Awakening, EastEnders), Niccy Lin (Lockdown Kings, Official Secrets), Aidan Cheng (Harlots, Devils), Ed Speelers (Outlander, Wolf Hall), Ben Wiggins (The Witcher, Mary Queen of Scots), and Lukas Gage (Euphoria, The White Lotus).

With the fourth season, You transforms into a straight-up murder mystery à la Agatha Christie–or perhaps Glass Onion–compliments to the Eat the Rich Killer, who knows about Joe’s past and seems very keen on exploiting it and Joe.

According to ComicBook, the fourth season of You is leaving room for one of two big possible twists: (1) the person who is stalking Joe turns out to be in plain sight–either someone the audience never expected to be crazy, or something Joe finding out he has a split personality developing; or (2) a character from a previous season who the audience thought was dead and/or gone makes a surprise reprise.

What ending are you expecting? Find out on part one’s release on February 9, 2023 and part two’s release a month later on March 9, 2023 on Netflix.
