Wizarding World Expansion: HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Series Adds Nine New Faces To The Cast

The highly anticipated HBO Original Harry Potter TV series has just released major cast announcement. According to Warner Bros., new cast members have been announced for the upcoming series, including Katherine Parkinson (Taskmaster, Rival) as Molly Weasley, Johnny Flynn (Lovesick, Ripley) as Lucius Malfoy, and Lox Pratt (Lord of the Flies) as Draco Malfoy. Viewers will also see more Hogwarts students, featuring Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown. Additionally, fans can look forward to more scenes within the Ministry of Magic, as Bertie Carvel (Babylon, Coalition) will portray Cornelius Fudge, one of the ministers in the facility.

Furthermore with WB, fans can look forward to seeing more of Muggle Life, featuring Bel Powley (The King of Staten Island, Wilding) as Petunia Dursley and Daniel Rigby (Black Mirror, The Witchfinder) as Vernon Dursley. Currently, there is no information available about the actor who will portray their son, Dudley, in the series.

According to mxdwn, they will be joining existing members of the cast, which include Janet McTeer (Ozark, Kaos) as professor McGonegal, Paapa Essiedu (The Lazarus Project, Gangs of London) as Severus Snape, Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Into the Badlands) as Hagrid, John Lithgow (Shrek, Dexter) as Albus Dumbledore, Paul Whitehouse (King of Thieves,The Fast Show) As Filch, Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Wesley.

Future updates will certainly include information about other important characters in the series, such as Neville Longbottom and Voldemort, along with details on who will portray them.

The series currently does not have a confirmed release date but is expected to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027. According to mxdwn, the Harry Potter reboot has been ordered for multiple seasons and will explore the individual books from the franchise, including The Chamber of Secrets and The Prisoner of Azkaban.
