Tom Hiddleston Confirms that ‘Loki’ Season Two Begins Production Soon

It seems like the second season of Marvel Studios’ Loki will be moving forward. In an interview with The Playlist podcast, star Tom Hiddleston (Avengers: Infinity WarThor franchise) confirmed that production on season two will begin production in the coming weeks.

“We’re in it already,” he told The Playlist. “I mean, we’re not filming, but we’re in prep, but we start in like six weeks or something. So we’re in full steam ahead in terms of a script and story and it’s really exciting. Yeah, I can’t say too much, but lots of questions to be answered.”

Hiddleston also discussed the first season in the interview, including his initial reactions when he was contacted by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, the cliffhanger ending, and working with co-stars Owen Wilson (Cars), Sophia Di Martino (YesterdayFlowers), and Jonathon Majors (Creed III).

Season two of Loki will pick up from the cliffhanger from season one, where Sylvie (Di Martino) kills He Who Remains (Majors), allowing for the Multiverse to form and Kang the Conquerer to take over the TVA. The ramifications of Loki led to the events of What If…?Spider-Man: No Way HomeDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Season two will have new directors, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (The EndlessResolution), following Kate Herron’s (Sex Education) departure. The two previously worked on Moon Knight, airing currently on Disney+.

Season one can be streamed now on Disney+. To read the full Playlist interview, click here.
