Tom Hardy Joins Season Two of ‘Peaky Blinders’

BBC added Tom Hardy to the second season of gangster drama Peaky Blinders.

According to Deadline, the series is a period piece set in Birmingham, England with the Shelby family leading the Peaky Blinders – a fear gang known for sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps. In the second season, the Shelby family will grow their empire when the 1920s begin.

Hardy will portray charismatic leader that gives Cillian Murphy’s character Tommy Shelby a unique opportunity. Hardy’s last drama role on the small screen was the mini-series The Take (Sky 1 Network). He will reunite with Dark Knight Rises and Inception co-star Murphy including Steven Knight the creator of the series and he also wrote and directed Hardy in the film Locke. Knight will write the six episodes for season two and filming will begin later this month.

The Weinstein Company acquired U.S. TV and VOD rights for Peaky Blinders first three seasons including an option for others.

Hardy is repped by CAA and United Agents.
