‘True Detective’ Six-Minutes of Incredible Filmwork

True Detective has a six-minute tracking shot that is worth watching even if you have not seen a single minute of the mini-series.

According to The Huffington Post, during the fourth episode of True Detective, a heist goes wrong for Cohle (Matthew McConaughey). The scene last six minutes is shot continuously from the time the heist starts until the moment he makes his escape.

These six minutes highlight an incredible piece of film work. They weave in and out of homes in a housing complex, use a ton of actors and follow Cohle and his hostage as they go up and over a fence. The single shot put the viewer in the action with Cohle as he tried getting out of this situation. Cary Fukunaga, the show’s director, coordinated the entire thing and further proved his directing skills.

True Detective stars McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

Catch True Detective on HBO on Sundays at 9 PM Eastern.
