Thomas Doherty From ‘Gossip Girl’ Will Reprise His Role In ‘Tell Me Lies’

The second season of the Hulu original series Tell Me Lies will feature Thomas Doherty (Gossip Girl, Legacies). Doherty is slated to play Baird junior Leo, who returns to campus after a year spent studying abroad and is instantly smitten with Grace Van Patten’s (Mayday, Nine Perfect Stranger) Lucy. Although he seems charming and kind, Lucy is unsure if she can put all of her trust in him. Leo will eventually get caught up in the toxic relationship that Jackson White’s (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, Ambulance) Stephen has with Lucy.

Tell Me Lies, according to Deadline, chronicles an eight-year relationship that is turbulent but enthralling, engulfing everyone in its dangerous wake. A group of college friends are unaware that one addictive relationship among them has the ability to entangle them all in a web of deceit, sex, and betrayal that will irrevocably change their individual paths.

Currently serving as a Dior ambassador, Doherty portrayed Max Wolfe in the HBO Max revival of Gossip Girl. He starred opposite Zoe Kravitz (Big Little Lies, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwaldin High Fidelity on Hulu and opposite Helen Mirren (Barbie, Shazam! Fury of the Godsand Jason Clarke (Dawn of The Planet Apes, Terminator Genisysin Catherine the Great on HBO.

According to Deadline, in addition to starring opposite Kiki Layne (If Beale Street Could Talk, The Old Guard 2in the IFC picture Dandelion, which will have its SXSW premiere next month, he recently completed filming Malik Vitthal’s (Imperial Dreams, Bodycamupcoming feature film, Family Secrets. Peikoff Mahan Law Office, Olivia Bell Management, William Morris Endeavor, and Anonymous Content are Doherty’s legal representatives.

Tell Me Lies on Hulu is run by executive producer Meaghan Oppenheimer (Queen of America, We Are Your Friends). Additional executive producers include Laura Lewis (Mr. Malcolm’s List, Long Weekendand Stephanie Noonan (First Man, Girls Tripfor Rebelle Media, Emma Roberts (Madame Webb, American Horror Story), Karah Preiss (Hugh The Hunter, In a Relationship), and Matt Matruski (First Kill, The Grimm Taleunder their Belletrist banner.

The series adapted from the same-titled novel by Carola Lovering (Can’t Look Away, Too Good to Be True), who also serves as a consulting producer. Executive producers Sam Schlaifer (The Miranda Obsession, Puffyand Shannon Gibson (Jingle Bell Heist, Shatterboxare also involved.

20th Television is in charge of producing the Hulu original series.
