Prime Video has released the first official teaser trailer and key art for season two of The Terminal List, revealing the next chapter in James Reece’s story. According to Prime Video press release, the story expands from a psychological revenge thriller into an international espionage story, taking Reece across Africa, the Middle East and Europe while uncovering a conspiracy stretching from Moscow to Langley.
All eight episodes will premiere Wednesday, Oct. 21, exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories. Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World) returns as Navy SEAL Commander James Reece, with the new season adapting True Believer, the second novel in author Jack Carr’s book series.
Season two finds Reece searching for a new purpose after completing the list that drove the first season, alongside the return of several familiar characters. Prime Video’s press release reports that Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy, Black Sails) reprises his role as Raife Hastings, while Constance Wu (Fresh Off the Boat, Crazy Rich Asians) returns as Katie Buranek. Dar Salim (The Covenant, Game of Thrones) and Luke Hemsworth (Westworld, Land of Bad) are also back, while Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us, Terminator: Dark Fate) joins as Freddy Strain.
The teaser arrives as Prime Video continues building out The Terminal List franchise. As mxdwn previously reported, the streamer released The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, prequel centered on Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights, John Carter). That series explored Edwards’ journey from Navy SEAL to CIA operative, with Pratt returning in a supporting role as Reece.
It also maintained the franchise’s focus on military authenticity, with veterans contributing throughout the production. Former Navy SEAL Jared Shaw and former Army Ranger Max Adams oversee the action and authenticity work, with other military veterans contributing as writers, actors, technical advisors and directors.
The production is once again aiming to keep that grounded military perspective even as Reece’s story expands into a much larger international conflict. The press release notes also that the franchise has reached more than 100 million viewers worldwide.
Season two will now bring the focus back to Reece, but on a much larger scale. With his original mission behind him, the series will move from revenge into international espionage, gearing up for a highly anticipated premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
