The Russo Brothers Hinted that a Captain America Appearance is Possible in Disney+’s ‘Loki’ Series (SPOILERS)

The Russo Brothers hinted that a Captain America appearance is possible in Disney+’s Loki series. Attention: spoilers ahead.

It was reported back in February that Rick and Morty writer Michael Waldron would serve as showrunner for Loki. Waldron will write the pilot, serve as executive producer, and act as the show creator. While Marvel has not released an official narrative, different sources say that Loki will become an unlikely influencer in historical human events. Marvel has made no comment.

Avengers: Infinity War didn’t bode well for Loki (Tom Hiddleston) who died at the hands of Thanos. However, we got to see the god of mischief once again, but in the past. Avengers: Endgame showed the remaining Avengers travel back to a different timeline to retrieve the infinity stones before Thanos’s snap.

Fans of 2012’s The Avengers remember how the movie ended. Loki had released the Chitauri army by using the space stone in the Tesseract. Eventually, our band of superheroes defeated Loki and relinquished the Tesseract to Thor, who took it back to Asgard where it rightfully belonged.

In Avengers: Endgame, however, that battle got a different ending. When the group travels back to New York in 2012, a mission mishap allows Loki to steal the Tesseract after the fight and disappear to an unknown timeline.

At the end of the movie, Captain America (Chris Evans) goes back to various timelines to return the infinity stones. The Russo Brothers hinted that Cap had to have had an encounter with Loki thus bringing the possibility that Captain America could return in Disney+’s self-titled series, Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston.

Loki, when he teleports away with the Time Stone, would create his own timeline. It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for [Cap] to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki,” Joe said. “The minute that Loki does something as dramatic as take the Space Stone, he creates a branched reality.”

“We’re dealing with this idea of multiverses and branched realities, so there are many realities,” Anthony added.

Not much else has been shared about Loki.

Marvel movies are an extravagant, impactful adventure for viewers. Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, stated that the show would have a similar feel as well.

“These shows will be on the same level of quality that you’ve come to expect [from Marvel Studios films],” said Feige.

Disney+ will launch on November 12. There is no official date for when Loki could premiere on the streaming site.
