‘The Meredith Vieira Show’ Sold To Over 60% Of U.S.

Deadline reports that new syndicated, The Meredith Vieira Show, has been picked up in over 60 percent of U.S. television providers.

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution is the launch group for the new talk show and had every one of the NBC Universal owned markets pick up the show, 27 percent of all U.S. television. Joining the NBC affiliates is Hearst Television, Sinclair Broadcast Group, LIN Media, Young Broadcasting and Cox Media Group.

This is the largest sale of a daytime talk show in over a year and it comes at a time when many talk shows are uncertain about their future, including Vieira’s predecessor Katie Couric.

The show will be an one-hour, multi-segmented show that will offer a blend of feel-good human interest stories, lifestyle segments, and celebrity interviews.

Said NBC Universal Domestic Televisoin Distribution president Ed Swindler, “Meredith has an ongoing genuine relationship with the daytime viewer and her authentic, fun and down-to-earth style creates an instant connection with the daytime audience.”
