Netflix’s The Haunting of Bly Manor the second season to the anthology television series, The Haunting of Hill House, will not face delays due to the coronavirus pandemic according to Screen Rant. The Haunting of Hill House was ordered for another season in March of 2019.
The supernatural horror drama was scheduled to release in 2020, but due to the persistence of the pandemic, has sprung uncertainty regarding how the series would proceed. In March the pandemic had shutdown film and television productions, halting Netflix series such as Stranger Things season 4 and The Witcher season 2.
Showrunner Mike Flanagan (Before I Wake) explained the updates on The Haunting of Bly Manor. In CinemaBlend’s ReelBlend podcast, Flanagan explained, “I don’t expect it to be delayed one bit. We had already wrapped before the whole COVID shutdown hit all the productions.” Flanagan continued, “But my post team also, you know, where I’ve been with now, my whole career, they cracked it real fast and we’ve been doing everything on these virtual sessions” via Screen Rant.
The series produced by Amblin Television and Paramount Television which premiered in October of 2018. The program is based on the Shirley Jackson 1959 novel under the same name, with season 1 following a family facing their past paranormal experiences while simultaneously renovating the Hill House.
