The ‘Gilmore Girls’ Reboot Will Finally Reveal The Original Final 4 Words

When Gilmore Girls was first on the air, the ending was supposed to be, well, different from what actually happened. This is because show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had a vision for how the series would end, but before she had a chance to write the finale, Sherman-Palladino left the series before the seventh and final season due to a disagreement with her contract.

Sherman-Palladino had teased Gilmore Girls fans that she had already written the show’s final 4 words. But because she wasn’t a part of show’s finale, which was a tear-jerker by the way, fans never got to find out what these mysterious final 4 words were.

But since Gilmore Girls is getting a second chance at life on Netflix, we finally get to find out what Sherman-Palladino had planned for the show.

We may not know the final 4 words until the reboot premieres on Netflix, but anyone with access to the script already knows what the ending will be. One such privileged person, Yanic Truesdale who plays the every sarcastic Michel, told US Weekly, “I know them because I read the script! I always felt it was intriguing, like everyone else. I was like, ‘How does she know the last four words?’ But when I read it, I was like, ‘Oh, OK. That makes sense.’ I can see now why she knew that that would be said.”

The anticipation is killing us.

At the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, during the cast reunion in June, Sherman-Palladino teased, “I’m holding onto it still ‘cause in my mind, I don’t know, who knows…” This was before the Netflix reboot had been officially confirmed. Considering everything that has happened since June, it’s probably a good thing Sherman-Palladino held on to the ending.

In other news, almost the entire cast is returning to Stars Hollow. All 3 of Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) boyfriends, Dean (Jared Padalecki), Jesse (Milo Ventimiglia), and Logan (Matt Czuchry) will all be returning to the small screen, hopefully so we can finally have some closure with Rory’s romantic life. While Sooki (Melissa McCarthy) will sadly not be in the reboot, we will get chance to meet some new characters, and recently it was announced that Mae Whitman would be making a special guest appearance, which will be a fun treat for any Parenthood fans.
