‘The Exceptional’ From Brothers Josh and Seth Meyers Ordered by NBC

NBC has officially picked up a new comedy from Seth Meyers and his brother Josh. The Exceptional, a single-camera sitcom comprising of 30-minute episodes, will be executive produced by the pair, and will even star Josh as its lead.

The Exceptional will feature Josh’s character, one with self-adoring tendencies and the frequent ability to ignore those around him, who finds himself in a bit of a tricky situation after being elected head of the HOA board, the owner of a condo in which he already lives.

Seth Meyers is certainly no stranger to those familiar with the NBC network, having been a prominent figure in several of the station’s programs throughout the past decade. Having started at Saturday Night Live, Seth he found success as the quick-witted anchor of Weekend Update, in which his snark one-liners and “straight-forward” reporting hilariously contrasted the goofy stories he told the audience of. After this, Seth set sail on his journey through late-night television, where he currently remains. He first began hosting Late Night With Seth Meyers in 2015, where he has brought many bits to life and proved his ability to be a dynamic host.

Josh Meyers is likely recognizable to fewer, as his works have been on a relatively smaller scale to that on which his brother’s have found grounding. This is not at all indicative of a small amount of talent on Josh’s part, however, as he has proven his ability to make audiences laugh repeatedly. Having roles on Red Oaks and That ‘70s Show, Josh has verified his ability to act boldly before the camera. In addition to his acting credits, Josh has also garnered attention after several appearances on his brother’s Late Night program, during which the two often talked about their silly family.

Seth has also found immense success through his work behind the camera, in which he has functioned as writer, creator, and producer already. One of his recent producing gigs, that of NBC’s A.P. Bio, a sitcom depicting the day-to-day dynamics of an Advanced Placement High School Biology course, has already been picked up for a second installment after the first season found success quite quickly.
