‘The Boys’ Spinoff Adds Shane Paul McGhie, Aimee Carrero, Maddie Phillips To Cast

The Amazon Studios spinoff The Boys has made three more additions to its cast, according to VarietyShane Paul McGhie (Foster Boy), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), and Aimee Carrero (Holidate) will appear in the show’s upcoming first season of the untitled project.

Set to take place at the only college in the world for young adult superheroes, the trio will play the roles of individuals with superhero abilities. Based on the 2019 action series of the same name, the upcoming spinoff has been described as, “an irreverent R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games – with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys,” via VarietyThe project was announced to be in development last September, following the third season renewal of its mothership show in July. Meanwhile, Amazon also added an after-show entitled Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys.

Craig Rosenberg (Half Light) will serve as executive producer and showrunner while Eric Kripke (Supernatural), Seth Rogan (Freaks and Geeks, This is The End), Evan Goldberg (This is the End), James Weaver (This is the End), Neal H. Moritz (The Fast and the Furious), and Pavun Shetty (New Girl) will also executive produce. Rogan, Goldberg, and Weaver will reunite after working together on This is the End and The Neighbors. The Boys is based on the comic by Ennis and Robertson. News of the series’ newest additions comes just after the casting of Lizzie Broadway (The Rookie) was announced.
