The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards Winners Recap

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on Monday night. The award show was hosted by Keenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live) and broadcast on NBC.

The shows with the most nominations heading into the evening included HBO’s Succession leading the way with 25 nominations. Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso was tied with HBO’s The White Lotus for the second most nominations with 20 each. HBO Max’s Hacks tied with Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building for the third most with 17 each, followed by Euphoria which nabbed 16 nominations.

Among the winners announced at the show, The White Lotus led the way with five wins. Ted Lasso came away with four wins while Succession finished with three. Squid Game, Abbott Elementary, and The Dropout also won multiple awards.

Abbott Elementary’s Sheryl Lee Ralph becoming just the second black woman to win Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae becoming the first Asian actor win Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and Euphoria’s Zendaya becoming the youngest two-time Emmy winner ever as well as the first Black woman to win Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series twice.
