‘Teen Wolf’ Renewed for Sixth Season on MTV

At Comic-Con, the Teen Wolf family continued to surprise fans. They continued their tradition of announcing the series renewal for another season on MTV. On Thursday at Comic-Con, the cast made the big announcement that the supernatural drama would continue for season six.

The showrunner for MTV’s Teen Wolf is Jeff Davis. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the fifth season aired on June 29 with 1.53 million viewers. Because of this success, the network has made an early renewal announcement. They are hoping that the show continues its major success in the future. Season 6 will have a total of 20 thrilling episodes.

Teen Wolf is marked as MTV’s longest-running scripted series.  Jeff Davis commented on his high hopes for Teen Wolf‘s continuation on MTV. “There’s always talk of more. I always like to say, if the network is behind and if we still have stories to tell that get us excited, we’ll probably go for it,” stated Davis. He clearly has enough charisma to keep the show going as long as possible.

The Teen Wolf panel went on to talk about other highlights of the show. This is the first season, however, without fan favorite Tyler Hoechlin. Hoechlin, who played Derek, was a huge topic for the panel. Davis was prompted with multiple questions on Derek’s possible return. Davis said, “It’s up to [Hoechlin], so tweet him and tell him, ‘Get your ass back to Teen Wolf.'”

The cast was then asked questions on their senior year and what was in store for the rest of season 5. Each cast member shared what they believed their character’s senior quote would be. Dylan O’Brien chose “Get your hands off my Jeep” for Stiles; Shelley Hennig believes Malia would want “I love deer”; and Holland Roden selected “Not all monsters do monstrous things” for Lydia. For Scott, Tyler Posey went with “The pack is my anchor.” It was not surprising when Posey and O’Brien, who are very close friends, pretended to shed tears over the emotional choice.

Another very exciting thing that happened at Comic-Con for the fans of Teen Wolf was the debut of the show’s mid-season trailer for season 5. Watch below to get a glimpse at what’s to come.
