‘Teacup’, The New Horror Thriller From Peacock Adds Chaske Spencer To The Cast

Peacock has a new thriller on the way, and the cast continues to develop. Teacup, Peacock’s newest horror-thriller series, has now added Chaske Spencer (Echo) to their cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, any details on the exact character and role Spencer will be playing are being kept a secret for now other than the name which is Ruben Shanley.

Teacup is a new series adapted and inspired by the thriller novel Stinger by Robert McCammon. The story of the project centers around a group of people who are living in Georgia. As the group starts to uncover a mysterious threat that endangers their survival, the group has to join forces and come together in order to stay alive. The series takes place over a short 24-hour period. While the original story from the book takes place in Georgia while the TV adaptation brings the narrative to Texas. 

Peacock ordered the series from the creators in 2022. According to THR, Peacock has been excited for this series since its announcement. Lisa Katz, the president of scripted content at NBCUniversal expressed her praise towards the project “We are so excited for this adrenalized thriller about a group of people overcoming adversity, that’s both entertaining and emotional,” said Katz, “We know this upcoming drama will be in expert hands with James Wan, E.L. Katz, Ian McCulloch, our partners at UCP, and is sure to be a binge-worthy mystery for Peacock audiences.”

Spencer joins the cast of Teacup alongside Yvonne Strahovski (Atomic Monster) and Scott Speedman (Atomic Monster) who had worked together previously. Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone) who has worked on the series Yellowstone as a writer and will executive produce alongside Michael Clear (M3GAN) and Rob Hackett (Aquaman: King of Atlantis). The series is set to begin production soon, and there has been no announcement regarding any concrete premiere date.
