SYFY Series ‘The Magicians’ Drops New Trailer for 5th Season and Premiere Date

The SYFY Network series, The Magicians recently dropped a new trailer for its 5thseason along with a set premiere date. The new season for The Magicians will premiere on January 15th, 2020 on the SYFY Network.

The show which is based on a 4-book trilogy by Lev Grossman published back in 2009, began as Quentin and Julia (our main characters) interview for the Breakbills College for Magical Pedagogy or Breakbills University is a school of the magical arts whose purpose is to help those with magical abilities to be able to hone in on each of their specific attributes. Since then, the cast of the show all of whom have been on the show since the shows premiere back in 2015 have been to different worlds, other magical beings, and the consequences that come from messing with magic.

The upcoming season will deal with the results from this most recent season, which according to Screenrant, separated itself significantly from the novels by killing off the leader of the group and series lead Quentin played by Jason Ralph (Aquarius), who sacrificed himself in the final episode of season 4 in order to save everyone as well as the balance between the tangible and magical world. In this new season, it will focus on the shifting cast dynamics as they try to save the world from a growing instability between the magical and physical world that is affecting both them and the world around them. The shows series regulars: Julia (Stella Maeve), Eliot (Hale Appleman), William (Arjun Gupta), Margo (Summer Bishil), Alice (Olivia Tayler Dudley) and Kady (Jade Tailor) will all be making a return in the show. John McNamara (Aquarius; Trumbo), Sera Gamble (Supernatural; You), Henry Alonso Myers (Ugly Betty), Chris Fisher (Person of Interest) will all return to the 5thseason as the shows Executive Producers.
