Stephen Moyer to Star in Fox’s Marvel Pilot

Stephen Moyer is joining the Marvel family.

Deadline reports that Moyer is set to star in Fox’s upcoming untitled Marvel pilot. Moyer will play Reed, a determined attorney with the DA’s office who is also the father of children that possess mutant abilities.

The Fox/Marvel pilot was written by Matt Nix and will be directed by Bryan Singer. The series focuses on Reed and his family as they are forced to go on the run from the government when it is discovered that their children are mutants. While on the run they meet up with and join an underground group of mutants attempting to survive.

Along with this pilot Moyer stars in the limited series Shots Fired coming soon on Fox. He is most well known for his role as Bill Compton on HBO’s True Blood. He also starred in Kurt Sutter’s short-lived FX series The Bastard Executioner, and just finished directing his first feature, The Parting Glass.

Moyer is third cast in the untitled pilot following Blair Redford and Jamie Chung. The series is executive produced by Nix, Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.
