[SPOILERS] Sweet Christmas! ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Welcomes Fellow Netflix Superhero Into The MCU

Last night was the debut of season finale of Daredevil: Born AgainWe were given multiple glimpses of the characters’ futures. We have also been given our first look at a familiar character from the Netflix universe make their entrance into the MCU. Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn’t caught up with the series.

For those who don’t know, Daredevil: Born Again tells a story about Matt Murdock a lawyer by day and a vigilante by night, who is trying to tow the balance between the two roles now that his arch nemesis, Wilson Fisk AKA the Kingpin has become the new mayor of New York. In the second season we see Matt go up against Kingpin and his Anti Vigilante Task Force and try to save New York from Kingpin’s corrupt activities. During the season finale, Matt was victorious over Fisk, but it came at a cost. During the trial for Karen Page, Matt reveals that he is Daredevil in front of everyone. After a massive protest breaks out in the courtroom Kingpin has no choice but to resign and leave New York, whereas Matt is sent to prison for his vigilante activities.

During a scene we see Jessica Jones with his daughter and a man is standing in the doorway. The girl runs towards the man calling him “daddy,” it is revealed that the man is Luke Cage played by Mike Colter (M.I.A., Alarum). It turns out Luke was sent overseas for some unknown business and once it was done Luke was able to return to New York. According to Comicbook, Kysten Ritter (Stone Cold Fox, Retreat: A Novel) had this to say when it came to Colter returning to the second season of the show, “‘I’m very close friends with Mike in real life, and there’s such a difference between how we are when we’re on my back porch, versus how we are when we’re in character,’ Ritter explained. ‘Getting to see when he first walked through the door, I felt emotional, and it was a big day. It was like, Oh my God. It just felt like no time had passed, but also this, like, just magical thing that we’ve gotten to do together.’”

With the third season confirmed to be in production, the second season can streamed in its entirety while we wait for the third season to premiere.
