Dark times await the land of Elaxandria as the finale of The Legend of Vox Machina’s fourth season forces beloved hero to face an inescapable doom. According to Screenrant, the finale episode continue were the previous episode ended with a grieve stricken Pike, voiced by Ashley Johnson (Ben 10: Alien Force, The Last of Us) drove by the brief death of Grog, voiced by Travis Willingham (Sonic Boom, Fullmetal Alchemist) to briefly align with the whispering one, voiced by Andy Serkis (Black Panther, Flushed Away), to bring him. Later on, after brief fighting between Pike and her team, they refocus their efforts into killing Delilah, voiced by Grey DeLisle (Invincble, Onward) and her master.
Reported by Screenrant, it was Vax’ildan—voiced by Liam O’Brien (Tiger & Bunny, Naruto Shippuden)—who ultimately met the fate foretold by the Matron of Ravens. Although the group managed to defeat his physical body, this was the final piece he needed to ascend to godhood, quickly forcing the team to bend the knee.
Laura Bailey (Dispatch, Soul Eater), who voices Vax’s twin sister, Vex’a’halia in the series, goes onto give a statement with Screenrant about the significant of the character’s death,” If we didn’t know, that’s how the whole show ended, woof! [Laughs] Yeah, it’s devastating, but I think it’s gonna be extra special for season 5. I feel like it was very sad. There may or may not have been lot of tears happening,” The death was similar of what transpired within Critical Role’s first campaign, and Liam further “all the [same] weight and pain and love that happened around the table” and that it was the end goal.”
