‘Snowpiercer’ Season Three Shares Its First-Look Trailer, Revealing Hope For Civilization As Earth Begins To Warm

Season three of TNT’s Snowpiercer is premiering on Monday, January 24 at 9 pm ET/PT, via Warner Media. On December 7, 2021, TNT released the official trailer of this upcoming series. The one-minute trailer offers fans some first sights of the new season.

Snowpiercer is a post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller, set in the time of 2026. The television series is based on the 2013 movie of the same name. The TV series serves as a reboot of the film’s continuity. It follows the passengers of the Snowpiercer, a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe carrying the remnants of humanity seven years after the world becomes a frozen wasteland. With its unique background, the show tackles issues such as class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival.

At the end of season two, Andre Layton and Ruth Wardell, two of the major characters who were banished to Big Alice’s compost car, planned to take back Snowpiercer. Layton and Ruth made it back to Snowpiercer with the help of Javier and Alexandra. They reunited with their supporters. Snowpiercer’s head is separated from the remaining 1,023 cars as Josie destroyed the Aquarium car.

According to Warner Media, season three will pick up” with Layton and his inner circle commanding a small 10 car ‘pirate train’ in search of Melanie and a possible warm location to restart civilization; while back on Snowpiercer, Mr. Wilford is consolidating power, awaiting Layton’s return.” From the trailer itself, we see many potential conflicts and thrilling interactions.

The new season stars Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind, House of Sand and Fog), Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), Sean Bean (Sharpe), Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World), Alison Wright (The Americans), Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha), and more. The show is produced by Tomorrow Studios, along with CJ Entertainment. ITV Studios handles international distribution.

The first two seasons are available on HBO Max with subscriptions.
