In a bid won by Showtime, Lionsgate TV alongside Kevin Hart and Tip ‘T.I.’ will develop an office-themed music business comedy series The Studio. Both actors/rappers are expected to make guest appearances throughout the show, Deadline reports.
Hart and T.I. will executive produce the series with Aeysha Carr (Everybody Hates Chris) who will also write. The Studio capitulates the irregular work hours and habits of a group of music recording studio employees and industry professionals, delving into their wild conversations that would occur within the graveyard shift hours of 12 at night to 6 a.m.
According to The Tracking Board, this isn’t the first time Hart and T.I. worked together. Hart dropped his solo album Kevin Hart: What Now? (The Mixtape Presents Chocolate Droppa) in 2016 featuring Migos and T.I. on one of his songs, “Baller Alert.” In addition to collaborating on music, T.I. co-starred with Hart in Get Hard and appeared in his film Ride Along 2. Below is a YouTube clip promoting Hart’s new single.
Making a debut in 2018, Hart will star in the Universal reboot The Great Outdoors, based on the 1988 comedy film written by John Hughes. The comedian/rapper also owns a video-on-demand service with Lionsgate called Laugh Out Loud, which will soon release the weekly show Kevin Hart: What The Fit? developed by Lionsgate TV and Pulse Creative.
Spanning 100+ singles and 9 albums, T.I. has also made a name for himself in entertainment by appearing in TV shows like House of Lies, Ballers and Roots. And, last night T.I. took to Twitter to promote the series finale of his VH1 show The Family Hustle which wrapped its 100th and final episode.
