According to Comicbook, the DC animated series Harley Quinn has recently revealed a release window for the upcoming season four. As DC Studios starts to reboot their live-action universe to include animated projects and even video games, it seems that with all the previous series cancellations the Harley Quinn series can continue under the new management. According to a new press release from Warner Bros. Discovery’s upcoming animated slate, it seems that season Four of the series will air this summer.
According to Comicbook, when the series received its fourth season renewal Billy Wee, Senior Vice President of Comedy & Animation at Max said, “Patrick Schumacker (Abbott Elementary), Justin Halpern (Surviving Jack) and their incredible team of artists and writers have created something so explosively funny and original, and we are thrilled to continue this journey with them and the show’s legion of fans. It has been amazing to watch the show grow and evolve this season and we could not ask for a more talented and dedicated team of collaborators.”
Peter Girardi, Executive Vice President, of Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation also said, “Three seasons down and I can’t even begin to think about the new levels of chaos and trouble that Harley, Ivy, and the gang can get into with a fourth season. But I’m grateful to our partners at HBO Max for continuing this insane ride with us so we can all find out.”
DC’s Harley Quinn animated series follows the gory but hilarious adventures of Harley and her new team as they learn to work together while also dealing with internal issues. Harley’s adventures start shortly after her break up with Joker as she then tries to strike out on her own. In the adult animated comedy, she tries to be the best supervillain with the help of Poison Ivy and the rest of the crew.
The series cast includes Kayley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory), Lake Bell (In a World..), Alan Tudyk (Firefly), Ron Funches (Trolls), Tony Hale (Arrested Development), Matt Oberg (The Bourne Legacy), Diedrich Bader (Office Space), J.B. Smoove (Hall Pass), Jim Rash (Community), Tisha Campbell (My Wife and Kids), and many more.
New projects in the works under James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Peter Safran (Aqua Man) include Creature Commandos, Superman: Legacy, and The Authority.
