Scrubs season two has officially entered production. According to ScreenRant, star Zach Braff (Garden State, Scrubs, Wish I Was Here) announced the milestone by sharing behind-the-scenes photo from the set on Instagram featuring co-star Donald Faison (Clueless, Remember the Titans, Scrubs) and a dog.
The revival marked the comedy’s first new episodes since the original series concluded in 2010. Premiering on ABC in February 2026, the nine-episode revival reunited Braff, Faison, and Sarah Chalke (Rick and Morty, Roseanne, Chaos Theory) as J.D., Turk, and Elliot Reid. John C. McGinley (Point Break, Seven, On Deadly Ground) and Judy Reyes (Smile, The Circle, Devious Maids) also returned in recurring roles as Dr. Perry Cox and Carla Espinosa.
The revival also welcomed several additional returning cast members from the original series, including Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings, Future Man, Benched) as Denise “Jo” Mahoney, Michael Mosley (Ozark, Seven Seconds, Sirens) as Drew Suffin, and Kerry Bishé (Argo, Red State, Madame Web) as Lucy Bennett.
Season one followed J.D. as he returned to Sacred Heart after working as a concierge doctor. After accepting a permanent position at the hospital, he was appointed Chief of Medicine by Dr. Cox. With his new position, he becomes tasked with mentoring a new class of interns while balancing the responsibilities of his new leadership role alongside his longtime best friend, Turk.
The season also introduced major developments for several returning characters. J.D. and Elliot reunited following the end of their marriage and were forced to navigate working together while rebuilding their friendship. Meanwhile, Dr. Cox was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, leaving his future uncertain heading into the second season.
ABC renewed Scrubs for a second season shortly after the revival’s nine-episode debut concluded in April. Braff’s recent social media post confirms production is now underway, though additional plot details have not yet been revealed.
A premiere date for Scrubs season two has not yet been announced.
