Most are aware that MTV’s Scream series is an adaptation of the popular horror film franchise. In the first season, a YouTube video goes viral and leads to cyberbullying and brings back memories of a crime spree from the town’s past that has haunted many and inspires a new killer to roam the streets of Lakewood.
With the second season debut coming at the end of the month, MTV released a trailer for Scream.

As the trailer indicates, there’s a new serial killer behind the ghost mask in the city of Lakewood. It’s not confirmed whether or not the murderer is a character from the first season.
In the season 1 finale, viewers discovered that Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) was involved with Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) in the ruthless murders. The trailer purposely suggests that any of the characters can be the killer especially since each of them are shown individually with the caption that reads “killer.”
Some of the brief scenes in the teaser includes season’s one’s killer being shot dead, the new ghostface attacking unknown victims in different shots, a little girl pulling her bare hands out of a slaughtered pig’s intestines, some guy being dragged across the floor, and a girl drenched in blood as she screams hysterically.
In addition to Klaus, the series also stars Willa Fitzgerald, Carlson Young, John Karna, Tracy Middendorf, Amadeus Serafini, and Santiago Segura.
The upcoming season of Scream is set to pick up immediately after where season 1 left off. Emma will return to Lakewood after going away for some alone time. Meanwhile, Audrey will be blackmailed due to her involvement with Piper. And Noah will attempt to uncover the murders from the first season.
Season 2 of Scream premieres Monday, May 31 on MTV at 11 p.m EDT.
