Ryan Seacrest to Host Million Second Quiz

Ryan Seacrest has signed on to host NBC’s new live game show, Million Second Quiz, according to Huffington Post.

NBC announced on Monday it is constructing a giant hourglass-shaped structure in Manhattan for the game.  Million Second Quiz will involve contestants testing their trivia skills over one million seconds, which translates to 11 days, 13 hours, 46 minutes and 40 seconds. A contestant leading the game earns 10 dollars per second for sitting in the “money chair” with a potential payoff of millions of dollars.

NBC describes it: “For 12 days, 24/7, contestants will be pushed to the limits of their knowledge and the breaking point of endurance. Live, interactive, intense and unlike any other game show in history, you truly won’t want to miss a single second. The four players who have remained in the game the longest will stay in the hourglass, where they will have the opportunity to play along with the game for up to two weeks as other contestants attempt to unseat them. The show will be the first fully convergent television experience, where viewers from all across America will be able to play along at home in sync with the game 24 hours a day and get the chance to appear on the show.”

The show will air as a special event for two weeks starting September 9.  The show will air for six straight days, then return for another four starting September 16.
