Robert Buckley, Chloe Bridges, and Dexter Darden Join Amber Ruffin’s NBC Comedy Pilot ‘Non-Evil Twin’

Deadline has reported that Robert Buckley (Chesapeake Shores, Lipstick Jungle), Chloe Bridges (Freddie, The Carrie Diaries), and Dexter Darden (The Binge, The Maze Runner) have been cast in NBC comedy pilot, Non-Evil Twin, starring Amber Ruffin (Central Park, The Amber Ruffin Show) and Kenny Smith (The Pathway, Meet the Smiths). Ruffin writes the series and executive produces under her production banner, Straight to Cards. Smith serves as the series showrunner and also executive produces.

Non-Evil Twin is a multi-camera comedy that follows Ruffin’s characters, twins Angie and Amber. Angie is the heartless and rich CEO of AngieCorp, a Fortune 500 company, who intimidates everyone she meets, except for Amber. Amber is Angie’s caring sister, who is a pushover when it comes to Angie and only sees the good in her. Amber is forced to lead AngieCorp despite knowing very little about the business or how Angie ran the corporation.

Bridges will play Angie’s corporate nemesis, Robin, the CEO of Dandee Sports Apparel. Robin is a self-described woman of faith and a shark in the boardroom. Buckley will play Samson, Angie’s not-so-bright lawyer, drinking buddy, and casual sex partner. Darden will play tech developer for exercise equipment and contemporary nerd, Marcus. Marcus is a good guy who is afraid of confrontation, making it hard for him to always do the right thing.

Along with Smith and Ruffin, executive producers include Seth Meyers (Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Seth Meyers), Mike Shoemaker (A.P. Bio, The Awesomes), and Jason Carden (The Amber Ruffin Show, Mapleworth Murders) for Sethmaker  Shoemeyers, Olivia Morris (The Head, Hotel Portofino) and Jenny Hagel (Crafty, Tech Support) for Straight to Cards, and Kelly Park (Station 19, Lopez vs. Lopez), who will also direct the pilot. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the producing studio.

Bridges recently co-starred on Hulu comedy series, Maggie, and her television credits also include Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars, and Netflix’s Insatiable. She is represented by Bridges Entertainment, APA, and Goodman, Genow, Shenkman, Smelkinson, & Christopher LLP.

Buckley most notably starred in five seasons of The CW’s iZombie and appeared in seasons seven, eight, and nine of The CW’s One Tree Hill. He is represented by McKuin Frankel Whitehead LLP, APA, and Interlink Management.

Darden is currently in Disney+’s Chang Can Dunk from Lena Waithe. He is represented by Crimson Media Group and APA.
