Rachel Brosnahan Reacts To Highland Park Shooting: “I’m Sick To My Stomach”

Actress Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) took to Twitter on Monday to express her displeasure at the shooting that occurred at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois. Brosnahan grew up in Highland Park, which she states in her tweet below.

Brosnahan then posted a link under her tweet that shows people where they can donate to the gun safety advocate group, Everytown.

Police have since arrested the sole suspect in the shooting, Robert Crimo III. In a press conference on Tuesday, the Lake County state’s attorney, Eric Rinehart, announced that Crimo had been charged with seven counts of first-degree murder, according to The Guardian. Rinehart also announced that Crimo would face a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Highland Park Police Chief Lou Jogmen said they found Crimo at a traffic stop and “that subject did flee. A brief pursuit went on. Ultimately they were able to get the subject stopped in Lake Forest. The subject was taken into custody without incident,” Jogmen said, per Deadline.

According to The Guardian, The Highland Park Police Department also said that this is not the first time Crimo’s name has been known to them. The department says they first received a call about Crimo in April 2019, when he allegedly tried to commit suicide. Then, in September of that year, he allegedly had made threats against his own family.
