Prime Video Releases ‘The Boys’ Spin Off ‘Gen V’ Trailer

After all the anticipation, Prime Video has released the trailer for Gen V, spinoff of The Boys, according to TVLine. The trailer depicts some truly sinister events to come within the series, which should come as no surprise since Vought International is heavily behind the scenes of the institution that Gen V takes place around.

A character warns all the other super students that there is a prevalent evil within the school, so the students work together to show their potential as supers, even though they are all claimed to be “fucked up.”

As previously reported on, a few stars from The Boys will be resuming their roles in Gen V. Colby Minifie (Homebody, Submission), P.J. Byrne (Eloise, Mob Town), Jessie T. Usher (Shaft, Smile) and Claudia Doumit (Timeless, Up There) are all expected to be troublemakers within Gen V.

The official Gen V synopsis sets the scene of exploring “the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given. These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking.”

The synopsis continues on saying that the students “quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as the once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.”

The cast of Gen V is nothing short of star-studded, featuring Patrick Schwarzenegger (Midnight Sun, Daniel Isn’t Real), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton, Terra Nova), Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Paper Towns), Lizze Broadway (Ghosted, 16 and Missing), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, After Ever Happy), London Thor (The Rolling Soldier, Shameless), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters, Summerland), Asa Germann (Caviar, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story), Derek Luh (Shining Vale, Runaways), Marco Pigossi (Invisible City, Tidelands) and Sean Patrick Thomas (Till, Can’t Hardly Wait).

Some guest stars are also to be expected in Gen V. Alexander Calvert (Supernatural, The Edge of Seventeen), Jason Ritter (Gravity Falls, Frozen II) and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, John Wick: Chapter 4) will be making guest appearances and showrunners consist of Tara Butters (Reaper, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World) and Michele Fazekas (Marvel’s Agent Carter, Hawaii Five-O).

Gen V is expected to make its premiere on Friday, September 29.
