‘Powerless’ TV Series Finally Gets its Release Date

Many have searched for a comedic version of an anti-superhero TV show, but now prayers have been answered with DC Comics’ Powerless, a half-hour comedy series. It was originally supposed to debut this past fall but now has been confirmed for February 2nd on NBC. Since the setting for the show is DC Universe, there will possibly be guest appearances by many superheroes and supervillains. If there were, they will be well known comic characters, such as Wonder Woman or The Flash.

The show, described by Comicbook.com, is about a world where superheroes mingle with regular people as they each try to cope with the damage that has happened around them. In the beginning, the main character of Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her time as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security as best as she can. There she meets a whole cast of characters, such as her boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates. She tries to exceed their expectations, follow her full potential and realize that you don’t have to have superhero powers to be a hero and emerges as someone special in the end.

Hitting back hard at the critics that find the DC Universe dull and lacking the right cast of characters, Powerless has confirmed Jack o’ Latern as one of the characters that will appear. It is logical that there would be a clear spinoff on many DC shows that featured Jack o’Lantern or even Wonder Woman. Many of these characters are dug from the DC vault to the TV series.

There is no definitive word whether the cast of characters on Powerless will have their own show. From the look of the new trailer, many can say that each of the roles are interesting and can be critical to the whole storyline. Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Len Goldstein, Marc Buckland and Dean Lorey are executive producers of Powerless. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and is based on the characters from DC. Powerless will be shown Thursdays starting February 2 at 8:30 p.m.
