Pilot Season: Five New Castings In ABC And CBS Shows

According to TVLineAbbie Cobb, Rich Sommer, Billy Brown, Katie Findlay and Aimee Garcia have all found new gigs in ABC and CBS pilots for the upcoming season.

Abbie Cobb (Suburgatory, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, 90210) will be joining ABC’s Warriors, a medical drama set in the fictional Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where soldiers returning from war are treated.

Cobb will play Sienna Jones, a young woman who’s engaged to a soldier. Her friends and family fear that she won’t be able to handle being an army wife, and she begins to doubt it herself when her fiancé returns home with a major medical incident.

Also joining ABC are Billy Brown (Hostages, Sons Of Anarchy, Dexter) and Katie Findlay (The Carrie Diaries, The Killing), who were just cast in Shonda Rhimes’s How To Get Away With Murder.

The show follows Viola Davis, who’ll portray a criminal defense professor who gets involved in a murder investigation. Brown will play a detective who ends up having an affair with the leading character.

As for Findlay, she was cast in second position (in case The Carrie Diaries is renewed by The CW) and will play a bad girl, neighbors with another important character in the show.

Rich Sommer (Mad Men, Nikita, The Storm) is heading to CBS’s Good Session, a comedy about Joel and Lindsay (not casted yet), a couple who go on an apparently simple trip to the therapist and end up finding a lot about themselves and their relationship.

Sommer will be Joel’s best friend, who’s married, has three kids and lives in the suburbs.

Finally, Aimee Garcia (Dexter, Vegas, Trauma) is also joining a CBS show, Red Zone. It follows a retired CIA agent (yet to cast) who returns to service after a major terrorist attack in Washington, D.C.

Garcia will be Vera Bradley, a CIA officer who works in the Counter-Terrorist Department.
