According to ScreenRant, the original star of the Twilight film franchise reveals if he would return for the upcoming television reboot. In April it was announced that the five-film franchise that started in 2008 will be getting television reboot. It is still unclear if the reboot will either be a remake of Stephenie Meyer’s (The Host) novels or a spin-off. Star of the films franchise Peter Facinelli (Supergirl) recently spoke with Variety about whether he would reprise his role in the TV version of the series alongside announcing the Nurse Jackie revival as he would be happy to return to both projects.
Facinelli said, “I’m a fan first and foremost. But if they call me I’ll be there. If not, I’ll be watching for sure. I’m happy to see them coming back. I have a lot of love for both and a lot of love for the cast, filmmakers, and producers. It’s like a family. Twilight, for me, was six years and Nurse Jackie was seven, so when you finish those characters, it’s really it’s hard to put them away and move on. But then potentially to have an opportunity to maybe play them again is really cool. If not, I’m happy to tune in and watch. I’ve had my cup runneth over.”
According to ScreentRant, writer Sinead Daly, known for The Walking Dead: World Beyond and Raised By Wolves, will be the one working on the script of the new Twilight series. The series will be offered to many potential networks and streaming services by Lionsgate TV.
The Twilight film series originally aired in 2008 and spanned five different movies based on hit-selling novels. The film follow the story of high school student Bella Swan who moved from Arizona to Washington where she met the mysterious teen Edward Cullen. The films include creatures from vampires to werewolves through a dramatic journey between Bella and many of the characters.
It is not confirmed when the new series will be released.
