Peacock Releases Official Trailer for Seth MacFarlane’s ‘Ted’ Limited Series

According to Deadline, Peacock has revealed an official trailer for the upcoming limited series TedThe series comes from Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad!) and is set to debut on Peacock on January 11, 2024. It will consist of seven episodes.

The cast of the event series includes Scott Grimes (The Orville, Oppenheimer), Max Burkholder (The Purge, Parenthood), Giorgia Whigham (The Punisher, What We Found), Alanna Ubach (Beakman’s World, Legally Blonde 3), and MacFarlane as the voice of Ted.

The limited series is a prequel to the Ted film franchise. The first Ted movie was released on June 29, 2012 and starred MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg (Uncharted, Transformers: The Last Knight), Mila Kunis (That 70s Show, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Jessica Barth (Next, Get Smart), Patrick Warburton (Rules of Engagement, The Emperor’s New Groove), and Giovanni Ribisi (Sneaky Pete, Boiler Room). The sequel was released on June 26, 2015 and starred Wahlberg, MacFarlane, Barth, and Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, Mamma Mia!).

MacFarlane’s Peacock series takes place in 1993 after Ted the bear is no longer famous and is living at home with his 16-year-old best friend John Bennett, played by Burkholder, in Framingham, Massachusetts. The two live with John’s parents, Susan and Matty, who are played by Ubach and Grimes. Although Ted is a poor influence on John, he is a loyal friend who takes their friendship seriously.

Paul Corrigan (Modern Family, King of the Hill) and Brad Walsh (City Guys, In the Motherhood) serve as co-showrunners with MacFarlane. The series is executive produced by Alana Kleiman (The Orville, Straight A’s), Aimee Carlson (Cloak & Dagger, Warehouse 13: Grand Designs), Erica Huggins (The Dark Tower, In the Heart of the Sea), and Jason Clark (Zero Dark Thirty, Winning Time). It is produced by Fuzzy Door, MRC, and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
