Peacock Greenlights ‘Fast And Furious’ Series, With Fans Saying Its About Seven Years Too Late

The iconic hight octane Fast & Furious franchise has been staying strong for 25 years, with the reported last one, Fast Forever slated for a 2028 release. Reported by Comicbook, as of right now the first ever television series of the racing franchise is currently in the works with Vin Deisel (Guardians of the Galaxy, Riddick) serving as one of the executive producers, with Mike Daniels (Sons of Anarchy, The Village) and Wolfe Coleman (911: Lone Star, Shades of Blue) serving as the writers and co-showrunners of the series.

According to Comicbook, many fans have been posting similar reactions across social media platforms. One user on X commented,”This feels about 7 years too late,” while another asked, “Okay, but why?” Another comment read, “How about giving us the last movie?” It seems that industry skepticism is growing, with many believing the series will fail to gain traction and ultimately risk being shelved before it ever finds its audience

According to Comicbook, A poll was created across social media for how likely fans would be interested in watching the show, in which the results in abut 10 hours  being that 62.8% have said, “Nope, not interested,” 6.2% have said “No, give me Fast Forever,” 17.6% said “Yeah, I’ll check it out,” and 13.2% said, “Duh, I love the franchise.” These number could quickly change when further news on the series is released

With Peacock bringing the franchise to television, audiences could soon experience its signature combination of high-speed action, elaborate stunts and family drama in an entirely new format. At the moment, the live-action Fast and Furious series does not have an official release date , and specific plot details remain strictly under wraps.
