Deadline has just announced new reoccurring cast member to join the hit Apple TV series Shrinking. Scott Foley (Will Trent, Scandal) has officially been casted to star in the upcoming season four of the series, who he will be playing as therapy patient.
Shrinking was created by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Spin City), Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso, Office Romance) and Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother, Forgetting Sarah Marshall). Shrinking follows a therapist who is still grieving his wife’s passing. Jimmy Laird, played by Segel himself, finds creative ways (whether it’s ethical or not) to help his patients out. But by helping patients the way he feels necessary, he runs into multiple issues and high pressure situations that not only affects his patients, but the people around him, even himself.
Harrison Ford (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Blade Runner) is set to return to the series as senior therapist Dr. Paul Rhoades, along with main cast members Jessica Williams (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, The Incredible Jessica James) as fellow therapist Gaby Evans, Luke Tennie (Abbott Elementary, The Pitt) as Sean Mitchell who is one of Jimmy’s patients, Michael Urie (Ugly Betty, Modern Family) as Jimmy’s best friend Brian Lorenzo, Lukita Maxwell (Afraid, Speechless) as Jimmy’s daughter Alice Laird, along with Jimmy’s neighbors Liz Bishop played by Christa Miller (Cougar Town, Scrubs) and Derek Bishop played by Ted McGinley (Married…with Children, Hope & Faith).
Goldstein also plays a reoccurring character Luis Winston. Judith Light (The Menu, One Life to Live) has also joined the cast for season four in a reoccurring role as well, along with Christian Slater (Mr. Robot, Dexter: Original Sin) and Karen Gillan (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Guardians of the Galaxy). Guest stars for the upcoming new season have also been announced that includes Damon Wayans Jr (Poppa’s House, New Girl), Wendie Malick (Hot in Cleveland, Frasier), Sherry Cola (Joy Ride, Good Trouble), Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, Friends from College), Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, Speed), Candice Bergen (Book Club, Miss Congeniality), Isabella Gomez (The Goldbergs, Big Hero 6: The Series) and Michael J. Fox (Back to the Future, Spin City), who are all set to return to the series.
Shrinking is streamed on Apple TV produced by Warner Brothers Television and is an Emmy and Golden Globe nominated series. Shrinking currently has three seasons out with the finale just released this past April.
All 33 episodes are currently available now to stream on Apple TV. Fans have the time now to catch up and rewatch the series before season four premieres.
