New York Comic Con organizer ReedPop has apologized after an incident during a Helluva Boss panel in which actor and creator Brandon Rogers (Helluva Boss, Blame the Hero) confronted an audience member who repeatedly interrupted the discussion. According to Entertainment Weekly, the confrontation occurred Thursday night at New York City’s Javits Center, where Rogers appeared alongside fellow cast members Vivian Nixon (Helluva Boss, Grey’s Anatomy), Vivienne Medrano (Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss) and Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish).
Jesus, what has been going on lately? Like, first and foremost, I don’t blame Brandon Rogers at all, I’m talking about the fandom here (you know who you are).
If you’re gonna be rude, especially at a con, you don’t have to be there. Like give me a f***ing break. .

Entertainment Weekly reports that an audience member repeatedly shouted over the panelists as they discussed the animated series. Footage circulating online showed Rogers becoming increasingly frustrated after several attempts to stop the interruptions.
At one point, Rogers threatened to confront the attendee directly, then stood up and approached the audience. He also repeatedly called for event staff to intervene and remove the disruptive fan.
Following the incident, Rogers issued a statement to Entertainment Weekly explaining why he confronted the audience member. “When a disruption crosses the line from enthusiastic fandom into disrespecting my castmates and ruining the experience for thousands of fans who waited hours to be there, I will always step in to protect that space,” Rogers said.
He added that his attention remained on the show’s fans and the people who brought Helluva Boss to life. ReedPop also addressed the confrontation, acknowledging that event staff failed to respond quickly enough to the repeated interruptions.
“While the situation was addressed after the panel, action was not taken swiftly enough,” the organizer said, apologizing to the panelists, moderator, and audience members. ReedPop stated that it was taking steps to ensure similar incidents would be handled more quickly at future events.
The series has featured several notable guest performers, including Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead, Death Stranding), singer Kesha, and RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon (Doctor Who, Steven Universe).
Although the interruption was eventually addressed, the incident raised concerns about how quickly convention staff respond when audience behavior disrupts scheduled panels. ReedPop has pledged to improve its response to similar situations moving forward.
