Doctor Who actor Noel Clarke (Kidulthood, Adulthood, Brotherhood) has been charged with multiple sexual offenses in the United Kingdom. According to The Hollywood Reporter, London’s Metropolitan Police charged Clarke with two counts of alleged sexual assault, three counts of alleged voyeurism and one count of alleged exposure.
The alleged offenses are said to have taken place between 2007 and 2016 and relate to five alleged victims. The charges follow an investigation by Metropolitan Police detectives that began in September 2025.
Clarke is best known for portraying Mickey Smith on Doctor Who from 2005 to 2010. He has also appeared in Star Trek Into Darkness, Centurion and Bulletproof, in addition to writing, directing and starring in the crime drama films Kidulthood, Adulthood and Brotherhood.
The charges come five years after The Guardian published allegations from 20 women who alleged Clarke engaged in groping, sexual misconduct and bullying. Additional allegations included claims of sexual harassment and inappropriate touching on the set of Doctor Who. Clarke denied the allegations at the time.
Following the publication of the allegations, ITV, Sky and CAA cut ties with Clarke, while BAFTA rescinded his Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award.
In 2025, Clarke lost a libel lawsuit against The Guardian related to its reporting. More than a dozen women testified during the case, and Clarke was ordered to pay £3 million toward the publication’s legal costs.
The Metropolitan Police investigation began in September 2025, when a man then in his 40s was arrested in connection with the alleged offenses. The investigation ultimately resulted in the six charges announced against Clarke.
Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney said the women connected to the charges continue to receive support from specially trained officers and encouraged anyone who has experienced sexual assault to contact police.
The alleged offenses span nearly a decade, with the earliest dating back to 2007. Clarke is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 21.
