Prime Video is getting ready for the spooky season, with the company having release an official trailer for the upcoming Carrie series. The plot of the series will surely be similar to that of its film counterpart, which follows the journey of the misfit titled character, played by Summer H. Howell (Hunter Hunter, Curse of Chucky), who has been secluded her entire life by her overprotective mother, Margaret, played by Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass, Hush).
Carrie then steps into public high school after years of strict isolation and learns of the cruelty and pressure of the modern society. The trailer showcases the events that will soon change Carrie, thus leading her to discover her telepathic abilities , which she use to get her revenge on the ones that have wronged her. Toward the end of the trailer, viewers see the iconic tiara sitting on the stage alongside the prom queen announcement, transforming what should be a joyous night into a moment of pure dread as Carrie suffers a humiliating prank and loses control.
The trailer highlights the brutal fallout of viral bullying, tracking how relentless, recorded cruelty pushes Carrie’s latent abilities from a quiet, internal spark to a volatile force of nature, with the prime example being the whole town engulfed in flames. Additional members of the Carrie series will consist alongside Howell and Sloyan, will include Matthew Lilliard (Scooby-Doo, Five Nights at Freddy’s), Kate Seigel (Hypnotic, The Fall of the House of Usher) and Michael Trucco (The Rookie, Citadel).
Horror enthusiasts eagerly await the upcoming series, curious to see how one of Stephen King’s most iconic novels will be brought to life and what fresh narrative flair the Prime Video team will add to the story. The new Carrie series is scheduled to land on Prime Video on October 7 and will consists of eight episodes.
