New Show By Pete Davidson to Air on Peacock

Those who enjoy the comedic stylings of Pete Davidson (King of Staten Island) have news to be excited about. In a news update by Deadline, the young Saturday Night Live star, once heralded for being one of the youngest cast members to ever join the sketch comedy show, now finds himself executive producing a half-hour live-action comedy show alongside legendary SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels. The show welcomes a uniquely-told comedic style with an A-list celebrity cast, and is sure to make some waves.

The upcoming show Bupkis is supposedly telling the story of Davidson’s everyday life in a heightened and occasionally absurd manner. In this way, the series thus far has been likened to that of Larry David’s (SeinfeldCurb Your Enthusiasm. Given the massive success of the eleven season comedy goliath and the lack of anything even closely comedically resembling it, Bupkis clearly aims to do something unique in its approach to storytelling.

Chairman of Entertainment Content at NBC Universal Television and Streaming, Susan Rovner, had the following to say about the aspiring producer: “Pete Davidson is one of the most sought-after comedians today with his smart, one-of-a-kind humor and honest point of view. Bupkis will showcase Pete’s funny, surprising and unfiltered brand of comedy audiences have come to love as we continue to bolster our Peacock comedy slate. We can’t wait to dive in with Lorne Michaels, Broadway Video and our partners at Universal Television.”

The series has been ordered for a full season by Peacock. A premiere date has not been set.
