New ABC Drama “Harlem’s Kitchen” to Star Delroy Lindo

After his exit from CBS’s The Good Fight, actor Delroy Lindo has been announced to assume the lead role in ABC’s upcoming drama series Harlem’s Kitchen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A television star in his own right, it has been revealed that Lindo is leaving the successful legal drama following the conclusion of its fourth season which is set to air April 9, 2020. The actor’s role as attorney Adrian Boseman has been met with critical acclaim. Also, the showrunners, married couple of Robert and Michelle King, have revealed that Lindo are willing to bring his character back for a future guest role. 

Harlem’s Kitchen, executive produced by Zahir McGhee (Scandal), will center on a famous Harlem chef Ellis Rice, portrayed by Lindo, who operates his hip and recognizable restaurant. The concept of the show revolves around Rice, who came from nothing in Alabama, maintain his success and prepare one of his three daughters to continue what he has created. Currently, there has not been a vast amount of information released concerning the release date nor the supporting cast. The drama will center around family-centric and intergenerational mobility. With a successful ABC drama under his belt already, McGhee’s Harlem’s Kitchen has already garnered a lot of anticipation from critics and fans alike. 

Lindo has been a film and television star throughout his nearly fifty-year career. Audiences were first exposed to this actor through various theatre roles and in various Spike Lee films such as 1992’s Malcolm X, 1994’s Crooklyn, and 1995’s Clockers. Action fans will most fondly remember him as the lead Detective in the 2000 Nic Cage crime thriller, Gone in 60 Seconds. The actor has also won a Satellite Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film for his role as Matthew Henson in 1998’s Glory & Honor. In recent years, Lindo has been recognizable television talent with his main role on The Good Fight and guest spots on hit drama This is Us and the animated comedy Robot Chicken. Currently, there has not been a vast amount of information released concerning the release date nor the supporting cast for Harlem’s Kitchen. However, fans can still witness Lindo in action in the new season of The Good Fight
