Netflix’s ‘The Kominsky Method’ Announces Premiere of its Final Third Season

The Netflix original comedy series The Kominsky Method is preparing for its final season on the streaming service. Netflix has released the premiere date for the program’s third and final season which will be released on the platform on Friday, May 28, according to Deadline. Created by Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Mom), the dramedy series dropped on the streaming service in the fall of 2018 and has released 16 episodes over the course of its previous two seasons. The series had announced it would be renewed and return for another installment, yet it would be its last in the upcoming third season, consisting of only six, half-hour episodes. 

The Kominsky Method centers on Sandy Kominsky who has now taken on the role as an acting coach for Hollywood up-and-comers. This new career path resulted from some mild success within the film and television industry and now focuses his efforts on the newfound role. The series stars Michael Douglas (Romancing the Stone) as Kominsky in addition to Alan Arkin (Argo, Get Smart) as his agent Norman Newlander. Additional main cast members include the likes of Kathleen Turner (Romancing the Stone, Friends), Paul Reiser (Beverly Hills Cop, Mad About You), Sarah Baker (Louie), and Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing, Becker). Some of the announced guests of the upcoming season feature the returning actors reprising their roles in Emily Osment (Hannah Montana, Young & Hungry), Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense, The Boys), Lisa Edelstein (House), and Graham Rogers (Atypical, Quantico). For the third season, it has been previously announced that Arkin will not be returning to his role

The Netflix original has amassed critical acclaim for its previous two installments. The series received two Golden Globes in 2019 for Best Television Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy Series (Douglas) for its first season. Additionally, the series has amassed a total of six Golden Globe nominations, as well as five Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
