Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ Showrunner Erik Oleson to develop Paramount TV Produced ‘G.I. Joe’ Lady Jaye Live Action Series For Amazon

According to Deadline, Erik Oleson (Daredevil) is developing a Paramount TV Studios produced live action series on Lady Jaye for Amazon. Lady Jaye is an undercover operative in the G.I. Joe universe. The character was first portrayed by Adienne Palicki (Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) in the 2013 feature G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

The live action TV series about the character is in the works at Amazon, according to Deadline. The new series will be a standalone story centered around Jaye. The hope is to connect the series to a larger G.I. Joe universe.

The character Lady Jaye first appeared in the 1984 animated series of G.I. Joe. She was turned into an action figure and eventually made it into the comics. The new live action series comes from Paramount Television Studios, eOne, and Skydance Television.

Oleson will create and serve as the showrunner as well as executive produce the series alongside Lorenzo DiBonaventura (Transformers, Pet Cemetary), according to Deadline. Oleson also serves as the showrunner and executive producer of the upcoming second season of Amazon’s Legendary-produced Carnival Row.

Oleson has served as the head writer and executive producer on Amazon’s The Man in The High Castle. He was also credited as the showrunner and executive producer on the third season of Neflix’s hit series Daredevil.
