Netflix Renews ‘BoJack Horseman’ for Season 3

Following the cult success of its sophomore season, Netflix has opted to renew its animated dark comedy, BoJack Horseman, for a third season, set to air sometime in 2016. Following the example of its previous seasons, the third is slated for a 12-episode run.

BoJack Horseman, the brainchild of Raphael Bob-Waksberg, first galloped into the spotlight in August 2014 following its Netflix debut. It found an eager audience in fans of Adult Swim-esque adult animation, who immediately took to the show’s mastery of wry pop culture commentary and dark humor.

However, ratings for the show didn’t skyrocket until its second season, which premiered just last week on Netflix. BoJack Horseman proves that the second season can very well be the charm – reviews this time around have been exponentially more enthusiastic than they were following its initial reception, leading to Netflix’s speedy decision to renew it for another season.

BoJack Horseman stars Will Arnett as the titular character, an anthropomorphic horse who attempts to recover some of his former glory years after he quit his gig as a sitcom star. Arnett stars alongside Amy Sedaris and Aaron Paul as voice actors in the black comedy.

Seasons one and two of BoJack Horseman are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
