Netflix Releases Trailer for Animated WWII Show ‘The Liberator’

The upcoming World War II animated series for Netflix, The Liberator, has released its first look trailer ahead of its premiere on Wednesday, November 11, according to Deadline. The animated series will consist of four episodes and is under the supervision of director Grzegorz Jonkajtys (Star Trek, Solo: A Star Wars Story). 

The series is written by the likes of Jeb Stuart (The Fugitive, Die Hard, Vikings: Valhalla) and Alex Kershaw (The Last Days of World War II) in addition to being based on the book by Kershaw entitled The Liberator: One World War II Soldier’s 500-Day Odyssey. The series will also be executive produced by Jonkajtys, Stuart, Michael Lynne (Shadowhunters, Hairspray), Brandon Barr (Stuff You Should Know, Screenland), Robert Shaye (Shadowhunters), Mark Apen, and L.C. Crowley (Daytime Fighting League, Booch Eats a Car). 

The Liberator will center on the journey of Captain Felix Sparks and will follow his journey throughout Europe on the campaign trail to Germany as he attempts to protect his men and himself. The series’ voice cast includes Bradley James (Damien, Merlin) as Felix Sparks, Jose Miguel Vasquez (The Walking Dead, Cobra Kai), Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs, Last Man Standing), Finney Cassidy (Casualty), Billy Breed (Green Book), Martin Sensmeier (Wind River, Westworld), David Elliot (Bulletproof, The Inland Road), Ross Anderson (Crawl, Macbeth, Unbroken), and many more.
